Mary Auckland

Mary AucklandMary has been an independent consultant and trainer since 2005. This follows her long career in academic and research libraries, as Director of Library and Learning Resources at the University of the Arts London; Librarian at SOAS; and senior posts at the University of Southampton and LSE libraries. Mary has served on various strategic advisory bodies including the JISC's Committee for Electronic Information. She also served on the Library Association Council for nine years and was its Chair for three. In 2003, Mary was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to libraries and awarded an Honorary Fellowship by CILIP.

Julia Chruszcz

Julia ChruszczJulia is a consultant with over 15 years senior managerial experience in UK Higher Education academic computing services. She was the founding Director of MIMAS, the JISC and ESRC supported national data centre, which she led until leaving the University of Manchester in 2007. She also worked with the Research Councils, principally EPSRC and NERC in establishing a national High Performance Computer (HPC) service.

Terry Morrow

Terry MorrowTerry is an established consultant who has extensive experience of academic computing, and electronic journals and bibliographic services. He has worked for the Regional Computer Centres based at the Universities of Manchester and Bath, and was part of the team that launched the successful JISC BIDS database service in the early 1990's to provide bibliographic database services to the UK academic community. Following the transfer of BIDS in 1998 to the start-up company Ingenta, Terry was appointed Director of the BIDS Service. In 2003 Terry left Ingenta to become an independent consultant.

Najla Rettberg

Najla RettbergNajla is a librarian with extensive experience in digital preservation, and recently held the post of executive secretary for the Digital Preservation Coalition. She has worked as a consultant for a range of clients including the Online Computer Library Centre (OCLC); Kings College London; the Digital Preservation Coalition and the Digital Curation Centre. She previously held a post at Edinburgh as Digital Preservation Officer for the University Library.

Duncan Simpson

Duncan SimpsonDuncan is a consultant with extensive senior management experience in archives, records management, and access to information. Until 2002 he was a Director of Government Services at the UK National Archives and led the introduction of the framework for electronic records management in government. He was a founder Director of the Digital Preservation Coalition and is an honorary senior research fellow at UCL specializing in the records management aspects of access to information and information management. He is particularly interested in access to information in local government and has also recently advised on the design of a National Records Centre for Tanzania.

Peter Williams

Peter WilliamsPete is an established researcher in information science with over 12 years research experience and 120 published articles and book reviews. His research expertise and interests include ICT in education, media, health, and personal information management. He is a senior research fellow in the School of Library, Archive and Information Studies in University College London and works as an research associate with us on relevant consultancies.

Rob Beagrie

Rob BeagrieRob is studying bio-sciences at Cambridge University and holds an academic scholarship from Robinson College. He works part time as a web designer and is also a Technical Director for The Triple Helix, an international student organisation and global forum for science in society. Rob provides technical support for our website and projects and also works as a research assistant on relevant consultancies.
